When we speak of logistics, the image that most people may often imagine is one of transport trucks with long snaking trailers behind them; or perhaps it is an image of containers stacked densely at the port or on transoceanic ships; or even images of cranes, lifting equipment, modern warehouses, planes full of goods, and more. And we may imagine the “people of logistics” to be those guys in uniforms, holding stacks of documents, dutifully stationed at the seaports, ICDs, airports and at customers' warehouses.

Logistics is not just transportation. The result of logistics is not only goods reaching customers and the smooth circulation of goods around the world, but also the complete satisfaction of all stakeholders on that journey. Therefore, logistics is a journey of perseverance, patience, refinement, meticulousness, synchronicity, creativity and high discipline.

Logistics is the lifeblood of the economy. In these historical conditions of increasing globalization, the continuous deepening and rapid change in global divisions of labor, and unprecedented developments in science and technology, logistics is an industry rich in potential for development and breakthroughs, but comes attached with many challenges. That challenge is the increasingly diverse, sophisticated, specialized and strict demands of customers as the range of goods used to address human needs becomes increasingly diverse and new. That challenge is the increasingly rapid development of science and technology that shapes the infrastructure and operations of the logistics industry. That challenge is the growing competition between businesses in the industry as different value systems converge day by day.
